SKI and SERVE

We’d love to welcome you to Chalet Altitude, for you to see God at work, and for you to get stuck into our mission in the mountains. You’ll ski every day, you’ll live in community with us (there’s 25-30 of us in the chalet any given week). We’ll worship together, pray together, eat together, and ski together. We’ll encourage you to use your giftings and serve alongside us – whether that be praying on a Ski Angels shift, joining in worship, a stint of washing up in the kitchen, or you might just be happy to sit and chat to someone who needs a listening ear – everyone helps out as much or as little as you’d like. You can join us for one week or several weeks. We have all sorts of kingdom-building things going on, so read on to find out some more about what you will be getting involved with this winter!

What does a stay at chalet altitude look like?

SKI

• The Three Valleys is the largest connected ski area in the world, with slopes to suit all standards, from complete beginner to steep & deep powder hounds

• You’ll ski every day – you can head off with your friends, with a group from Altitude, or go and get a lesson to hone those new-found skills

• Pray over the valleys as you ski

• Race down the gorgeous Jerusalem run, past the cross on the mountain

• Find a quiet place and get close to God on top of the mountains

• And end the day revelling in the après-ski bars of La Folie Douce or The Ronnie.

SERVE

• This is a ski trip with a purpose

• We’d love you to bless us with your gifts and talents - from worship to washing up, each of us makes up the body of the church.

• You can help as much or as little as you’d like.

• We can never have too many prayer warriors, so come and join our prayer team on a Ski Angels shift.

• Be a part of our community, welcoming people in, chatting, serving burgers at our legendary Beer & Burger nights, or just being a friendly face. It’s all part of the joy of living in community.

REST 

• We want you to also take this time to rest, and soak in the presence of God.

• Join us for our worship evenings around the fire.

• Use our prayer room for some quiet time with God (please note prayer room is sometimes used as an emergency refuge bedroom)

• Go for a beautiful walk amongst the trees up at Altiport and seek God in the quiet places

• Grab a coffee and relax with a book by the fire

• Be uplifted in fellowship with people who share your passions

CHALET ALTITUDE

Chalet Altitude is just up the hill from Meribel Centre, with 11 bedrooms, a beautiful fire-lit lounge, and large dining space. All our guest rooms are twin bedrooms, all with en-suite shower-rooms. You will be living in the chalet with our Altituders. The chalet is fully catered with hot breakfast, afternoon tea, and 2-course evening meal (6 nights). On one night each week you are welcome to eat out or cook for yourself.  

You can come on your own, in a couple, or a group - whether from church or friends. Maximum group size is 6.

There is a large dining area, and a comfortable living room with open fireplace + free wifi. We have a chalet dog, called Lily, who is very friendly, and a regular at the slope-side bars with us.

The centre of Meribel is just a 4-minute walk downhill, and the ski slopes just a couple of minutes beyond that. Or we are right by a bus-stop which takes you to the slopes without the walking! Once you’ve got your skis on, you’ve got easy access to the slopes of Meribel, Mottaret, Courchevel, Val Thorens, Les Menuires, and a fourth Valley at Les Orelles.

COSTS

Ski and Serve Mission – You can stay for one or many weeks, subject to us having availability. Accommodation is in twin rooms, with en-suite shower rooms. Accommodation is half board, with Breakfast, Afternoon tea and 2 Course Dinner provided 6 days a week. We have up to 7 beds available per week.

• Standard price - £595.00 per person per week

OTHERS COSTS FOR YOU TO CONSIDER

• Travel to resort. You’ll need to arrange your own travel to Meribel. If booking flights, please think about airport to Meribel travel to ensure the timings work. We can recommend ways to get from an airport to Meribel.

• Ski pass. A 6-day 3 Valley pass - €355.00 (TBC) 6-day Meribel Valley pass- (TBC)
  For an extra €3 (TBC) a day you can add mountain rescue insurance to your ski pass.

• Ski hire. We use Slide Candy as they provide the best in-chalet ski hire service. Please ask us for a 10% discount code. Prices from £80 for skis and boots per week.

• Ski lessons – we can help you arrange these, just ask!

• Lunch - You will have plenty of opportunity to experience any of the lunch spots around resort, or if you’re looking for something a little more budget friendly, then for just £3.00 a day you are welcome to make yourself a filled baguette each morning to take on the slopes.

• Donation - Altitude Ski and Serve weeks operate at cost-price, so please if you can, any further donations will go towards the ongoing sustainability and growth of Altitude Mission, in Meribel and beyond.
