ALtituder Application FAQS

Got some questions about the application process and what the season looks like? Have a look at some of the frequently asked questions below.

WHAT ARE THE STAGES OF THE SELECTION PROCESS?

STAGE ONE: Online Application
The application process begins with you completing an online application form, as well as recording a one-minute video answering the question ‘What is it about Altitude Mission that really excites you?’

STAGE TWO: Online Interview
You will have a short online interview (20-40 mins) with some of the Altitude Team. This is a chance for us to get to know you a bit better, and why you would like to be an Altituder. It is also a great opportunity for you to ask us any questions you may have!

STAGE THREE: In-Person Interview
If successful at the Online Interview, we will invite you to an in-person interview (location TBC) with some of the leadership team.
We aim to let candidates know the result of each stage as soon as possible.

when should i expect to hear if my application has been successful?

We aim to let candidates know the result of each stage as soon as possible.

What should I do if my application is unsuccessful?

Unfortunately due to limited spaces available on the team, we will not be able to progress every application through each stage. If your application is unsuccessful then you are always welcome to visit Altitude Mission as a Ski and Server (more info here).

We kindly ask that if your application is unsuccessful that you do not re-apply for the same season you initially applied for.

How much does it cost?

Contributions to serving at Altitude are £8450.00 per person for the season. This covers all your accommodation and food for the season and gains you access to free basic ski hire.

Are there any bursaries available?

Yes, please just ask us for some more information and we’d love to support you!

What age do I need to be to be an Altituder?

You must be at least 18 years of age to apply. We aim to build a team of 18-30 year olds.

What are you looking for in an Altituder?

We are looking for people who love Jesus, have a heart for evangelism with mission experience, and are excited by the vision of Altitude (and love being in the mountains!).

That being said, we believe that everyone who applies has something to offer Altitude, regardless of age or experience. If you are thinking about applying, but are not entirely sure yet, then you can express your interest and one of the team will get in touch.

Do I have to be there for the whole season?

We see a real benefit from our Altituders joining us for the whole season as this allows us to build friendships with the seasonnaires across resort. Therefore we encourage you to apply for the whole season.

Do I have to be able to ski?

You do not have to be able to ski, however it is desirable that you have at least taken a couple of lessons before joining us for the season. You will pick up skiing really fast doing a season, however you will have to do a ability test to fully qualify as a Ski Angel.

I have a UK passport, will this be an issue?

No, if you have a UK passport then should you be successful, we will help you to apply for a visa. If you have an EU passport or any family members that mean that you would qualify to get one, then we’d encourage you to explore this as an option.

How many spaces on the Altitude Team are available?

We will be taking 10 Altituders to be part of the team.

Do I need to be able to speak French?

Speaking French is not a requirement to be an Altituder, but it is a very useful skill to have as not everyone you encounter in resort will speak English!
