Love God + Love Skiing = Altitude Mission

Fellowship With Richmond Christian Holidays

Altitude Mission - Ski Pastors

Sunday service was fantastic. The coldest we had ever been in church but wrapped in blankets we worshiped with a professional worship leader – Ed Corke – from Holy Trinity Cambridge. It was so cold that the guitar string broke!

4 guys who work with Richmond Christian holidays over the valley in Les Menuires came to join us for Church and fellowship which was fantastic. It was an hours drive and we really appreciated the effort. It’s a short ski in the daytime and a long drive in the evenings. They could all stay for supper afterwards at the chalet Altitude which was great.

Darren our cook is getting used to us adding numbers to the dinner table at the last minute!

The snow arrived this week along with the freezing temperatures. Some of the lifts in Courchevel had to close as they had frozen!
I joined seasonnaires ski classes in the afternoon which was a great chance to meet some seasonnaires and get some technique to add to the speed I have to ski with the boys!

Wednesday was Folie Douce evening but due to the snow there was no one there. I met the vicars (Chris Tebbutt and Andrew Corke) there anyway as you can see from the photos!

Wednesday night – pizza and beer. We’d had a few comments on Facebook so we weren’t expecting anyone then 6 arrived from the chalet next door which was great. Good games of Avalon followed and we pray that they felt comfortable enough to come back. It was good. We really love meeting the seasonnaires and providing them with home from home. There’s no God chat – it’s just a chance for them to come and relax and meet other seasonnaires.

Thursday brought a new influx of guests and a change of vicar from Chris Tebbutt to Andrew Corke. This weeks topic is Jesus the Healer so we are looking forward to tonight and the Friday “Open the Bible” slot before a fellowship supper for any Christians in resort. Or any seasonnaires who want to come too.

The snow is falling and Ed helped a skier who’d fallen off-piste and lost one of his brand new skis in the powder. Ed prayed and they found the ski much to the seasonnaires confusion!

Thanks for your prayers – Lara & Will.
